THE IMITATION GAME – Official UK Teaser Trailer – Starring Benedict Cumberbatch

The Imitation Game is a nail-biting race against time following Alan Turing (pioneer of modern-day computing and credited with cracking the German Enigma code) and his brilliant team at Britain’s top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II. Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British establishment, but his work and legacy live on.

THE IMITATION GAME stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness, TV’s Sherlock) as Alan Turing and Keira Knightley (Atonement) as close friend and fellow code-breaker Joan Clarke, alongside a top notch cast including Matthew Goode (A Single Man), Mark Strong (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), Rory Kinnear (Skyfall), Charles Dance (Gosford Park, TV’s Game of Thrones), Allen Leech (In Fear, TV’s Downton Abbey) and Matthew Beard (An Education).

  • I'll watch these movie with special effects with my family! Using boxxy software.

  • I have to code an Enigma simulator for a project in my computer science class, so I guess I have to watch this movie for "research" 😉

  • A big lie.
Poles were the first to decode the Enigma code

  • Does this movie cover the whole getting-mutilated-and-tortured-by-the-government-for-being-gay thing at all? If anyone who's seen it can let me know, thanks. I'm curious to see wether or not the filmmakers would even be allowed to allude to that.

  • But does Benny get naked in this film?

  • Mr. Majewski – a mathemetician from Poland working for the British actually cracked the code – the British took the credit for it.

  • Really great movie. If you love logic, algorithmic and cryptography you will love this movie. I really hate the world for beeing so stupid. This man changed our lives and suicided himself because of other retarded humans and their retarded minds. It wasn't the first time and won't be the last time and that is what makes me so sad about this retarded world. I am german and i have imagined what would have happened to all of us if Alan Turing and his team didn't break Enigma. Just imagine this and ask yourself what is going on in the world right now.

  • My Favorite Movie of 2014 !!!  .  Better to watch "Codebreaker 2011" before watching this one … to have a better understanding of The story

  • Of course Poland doesn't excist pff

  • Newman and Flowers built the first computer at Dollis Hill -NOT Turing. Film all filth amd lies!

  • Is this based on the book Enigma?

  • You will be excecute-

What's the main actors name again? I always forget…

  • My ex husband's uncle was Peter Twinn who was the first brilliant mathematician brought into the group. My grandson had Monday off from school and went with grandpa Greg Twinn to go see the movie and loved it! When I was over at his home today he handed me a photo copy of the article placed in the London news paper all about his great uncle Peter. My grandson turned 14 in December and has loved history since 5 of age . I used to turn on the history channel way back when he was little so that he could hopefully end up loving history. To think of how proud he was today when he handed me that old article to read brings tears to my eyes! Love for history? MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !

  • great movie

  • shite

  • What a great man Turing was.
What a great actor Cumberbatch is.

  • I've seen the movie 3 times now and each time I picked up a little I missed. It's a great movie.

  • It silences the notion that the British were bungling idiots during the war.

  • I know it's a movie and you can't include everything but I thought it was quite ridiculous not to include Tommy Flowers, the man that actually designed and built the Colossus code breaking machine. Maybe it's because he didn't fit into the Oxbridge mafia and because he was a working class Cockney Post Office engineer from Bethnal Green. Where is his movie?

  • what a load of bollocks… first of all, the importance of Enigma during the WWII was only 0,01% at best, while it was the battles like Moscow, Kursk and Stalingrad that made the biggest impact on the course of that war; and the Wehrmacht had up to 80% of its troops fighting on the East Front, which means the USSR won WWII almost single handedly.

  • Aww, Benedict! <333 He's very cute. :3

  • I just got back from watching this. Very good movie indeed.
