How to Solve a Rubik's Cube | WIRED
WIRED’s Robbie Gonzalez learned to solve a Rubik’s cube from Tyson Mao, one of the co-founders of the World Cube Association. In two weeks, Robbie got his solve time down from 45 minutes with Tyson, to 20 minutes on his own, to under a minute on average. Learn his 8-step method here.

Step 5:
Form the yellow cross: F-U-R-U'-R'-F'
Step 6:
Solve the yellow side: R-U-R'-U-R-U2-R'
Step 7:
Solve the corners of the top layer: L'-U-R-U'-L-U-R'-R-U-R'-U-R-U2-R' (Note: The end of this algorithm is the same as step 6's algorithm)
Solve the edges of the top layer:
CW: F2-U-R'-L-F2-L'-R-U-F2
CCW: F2-U'-R'-L-F2-L'-R-U'-F2

I had significant difficulty trying to relate to the first parts of the explanation, later though I found most of my issue was letting myself be okay with using slow-mo and backing up the video a lot. Patience with yoself if you are having a hard time like I was. As a special treat, I learned that with the video at half speed — he sounds hilariously high.
Edit: this video really was fantastic for me after I let myself accept having no idea what I was doing. Especially at half speed xD
